Breast enlargement in Tunisia

It is the second most common cosmetic surgery procedure in Tunisia.

Its objective is to correct breast atrophy or simply to obtain a more feminine breast.

The most commonly used techniques are breast implants and breast lipofilling.

In some cases, it can be combined with a breast lift in case of breast ptosis, especially after one or more deliveries.

This is the most commonly used technique, and unlike lipofilling, it allows for much larger volume increases.

We will address the subject by trying to answer the most frequently asked questions.

What is the price of a breast augmentation in Tunisia?

The price for a breast augmentation varies between 2,200 and 2,600 euros, all costs included.

Included in this price are transfers, clinic fees, doctor's fees, support bra and post-operative medication.

The price depends on whether it is a simple implant procedure or a breast augmentation combined with a breast lift.

In France, the price of a breast augmentation varies between 4,500 and 6,000 euros and the operation is not covered by social security.

Who can benefit from breast implant surgery?

It is indicated for women with breast atrophy or for those who wish to increase the volume of their breasts in order to have more feminine breasts.

In some cases, following multiple pregnancies or significant weight changes, breast ptosis occurs, giving the appearance of sagging breasts.

In this case, breast implants are combined with a breast lift.

Finally, breast prostheses can be fitted as part of reconstructive surgery after breast cancer surgery.

What are the different types of breast implants?

       - Composition:

The envelope is either smooth or textured.

    The content is variable:

The most commonly used are silicone breast forms.

There are also saline and hydrogel breast implants.

       - Shape:

Round breast forms are the most commonly used. They provide excellent results in the hands of an experienced surgeon.

Anatomical implants should be reserved for women with tuberous breasts.

       - Projection:

Low profiles have a wider base.

The high profiles allow the breasts to be projected forward.

       - Volume:

It depends on the desired breast size. However, it should be adapted to the width of the bust in order to obtain a harmonious bust.

What type of scar is needed for a breast augmentation?

There are three possible ways to have a breast implant:

       - The peri-areolar route.

       - The submammary route.

       - The axillary route.

In our clinic, the periareolar route is used most often.

What is the location of the implant?

    There are two of them:

       - The pose behind the pectoral muscle

It gives a more natural result, although the post-operative pain is a little more marked. It is particularly indicated when the volume of the breasts to be corrected is small.

       - The pose in front of the pectoral muscle

It is reserved for women who have enough breast gland to hide the implant.

How long does a breast implant last?

It is advisable to change dentures after 10 years.

In any case, at the end of this period, there is generally a change in the morphology of the breasts requiring the bust to be rebalanced.

What are the complications of breast augmentation?

    - Hematoma:

It is a bleeding that appears in the hours following the operation and requires a surgical revision.

It is easy to treat and does not compromise the final aesthetic result.

       - The shell :

It is a reactionary fibrosis developed by the body against a foreign body.

It is unpredictable and manifests itself as a very hard appearance of the breast, usually affecting only one side.

It occurs with a frequency of 2% and requires a change of the breast implant.

       - Infection:

This is a rare complication which in some cases leads to the removal of the prosthesis.

       - Unsatisfactory result:

These are not complications as such, but rather a result that does not meet the patient's expectations.

This may be due to inadequate volume in relation to the width of the bust, asymmetry, waves or breasts that protrude too far to the sides.

If the implants are placed in front of the pectoral muscle, they may be palpable, especially if the breasts are initially small.

    Breast augmentation by lipofilling

This is a procedure that consists of increasing the volume of the breasts by injecting fat.

This is removed from one or more parts of the body by liposuction.

The fat is then centrifuged and injected into the breast area.

The advantage of this technique is that there is no foreign body.

The disadvantage is that the increase in volume is reduced to a single cup size.
